Janet and I shared a very close friendship for almost 60 years. By her talents she whitened my horizons immeasurably. Her interests were varied, art, singing, history and a passionate interest in gardening flowers of all of all kinds. A country walk was never boring with Janet , looking for wild flowers in fields and hedgerows , in spring waiting to hear the cuckoo to sing . On our way to teach in Sunday school we would wait for a lark to rise and greet us. In so many different ways Janet enriched my life as together we journeyed together through life , climbing up its mountains and along its valleys supporting each other with laughter and tears.
